After settling in at La Borderie de la Côle, you meet your fellow guests over pre-dinner drinks before sharing an evening meal. |
| |
The following days your time is spread over visits to the market and to local producers to gather “produits du terroir” - seasonal and authentic ingredients - needed to prepare and cook our daily meals at La Borderie de la Côle; cooking sessions; French conversation classes; coffee and tea breaks; naps in the walled garden or by the burbling river at the rear of the grounds; strolls around the hamlet and sightseeing in Brantôme and the surroundings. |
| |
The hands-on cookery courses are conducted in French by a qualified chef in our country kitchen. With a different theme every day, he will demonstrate and guide you in the preparation of a variety of dishes from the simple to the traditional - or even the sophisticated - and how to match wine from local vineyards to the food. |

French conversation classes are with me, (Martine, your hostess). They are stimulating and interactive. I’m a linguist; I’ve spent many years abroad and have specialized in teaching French as a foreign language. Together, we exchange views on current affairs, French culture, travel and life in general with intent to improving your language skills and confidence. |

The general atmosphere is warm, relaxed and peaceful; we have a good laugh, spend a lot of time enjoying our food and wine. In our unspoilt retreat, we take life easily… |
